Born in the streets of London and raised in the deserts of Dubai, Jairaj Ravrani began his musical journey, as Jai Nova, at the age 15. In less than a month, he debuted in local clubs with his first headlining appearance alongside Dubai’s biggest radio hosts Kris Fade (Virgin Radio) and DJ Saif (Radio 1). With his impressive stage presence and his early productions, Jai was later invited to the Radio 1 Dubai studios. It was only a matter of time before he was spinning decks on local radio.
In the summer of 2013, celebrity DJ Caroline D’amore invited Jai Nova to make his international debut on Dash Radio LA, where Jai’s finesse was flawlessly presented. With his name and music buzzing around radio stations worldwide, the dream for Jai Nova had only just begun. Noticed by dance music icons Avicii, Nicky Romero, Martin Garrix and Alesso, Jai Nova continues to impress with his first official remix for Grammy nominated artist Stonebridge at the mere age of 16.
2014 saw even more success with the release of his first original track ‘Bomb’. Filled with anthemic big room sounds, the track instantly gained exposure worldwide and received airplay from the prestigious BBC Radio in the UK. Following this, Jai premiered his ‘Revolution’ remix for R3hab, Ummet Ozcan and Nervo, which came 4th in the remix competition of 9,000 individuals and is still one of the fan favourites today.
Having featured on multiple radio stations worldwide, Jai was offered an opportunity of a lifetime. The young pioneer launched his very own radio show, Novadose Radio, which is broadcasted worldwide, including stations in USA, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Africa, Japan, Brazil, Croatia and many more. Partnering with the world’s leading dance music labels (Spinnin Records, Revealed Recordings, Armada and more), each episode is packed with the most exclusive music on the scene. With over 8000 subscribers and over 9000 streams a week Novadose Radio continues to rise as one of the hottest dance music radio shows
With a positive start to 2015, Jai released his next record ‘Lets Go’, gaining early support from DJs Blasterjaxx, Juicy M, Amersy, Michael Burn, Nicky Romero and Dyro and airplay on BBC Radio. Following on from this, the music maestro released his new single ‘Horizons’ in May. Heading back to the roots, Jai Nova implements live recordings and digital synths to merge both the acoustic and electronic worlds of music. The single went viral within hours hitting over 25,000 streams in 5 days and is currently sitting over 175,000. Moreover, the track also received airplay on stations worldwide including Sirius XM and Radio 1 Dubai.
In October 2015, Jai Nova found himself signing his latest remix for #1 hit artist Natalie La Rose and Caroline D’amore on Republic Records/Universal Music, known to be the biggest label in the world. With his brand new signature sound, Jai swipes the floor clean with a smashing revamp of the original. From groovy breakdowns to breath-taking builds and electrifying drops, Jai Nova displays a masterpiece on the heavyweight label that kicked off with over 13,000 streams in less than 3 weeks. With support from across the globe, including the 2015 #1 DJ’s Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and an exclusive interview with Mixmag’s HYPE Magazine Dubai, the track continues to blaze the club dance floors and resonate the radio waves.
At the tail end of 2015, 18 year old Jai Nova returned to Radio 1 Dubai to host his own segment ‘Jai Nova & Friends’ with his special guests The Chainsmokers, Nervo, Yves V, EDX, Arno cost and Max Vangeli. With an explosive show and live listeners of over 50,000, Jai Nova and friends delivered a historic performance known to be the biggest radio line up in Dubai history.
With a noteworthy list of honours, this extraordinary young talent continues to live the dream.
